Northville Public Schools is pleased to announce the formation of a Wellness Committee, a subcommittee of the district’s Health Advisory Board (HAB), dedicated to expanding efforts in student wellness. This initiative will focus on promoting a school environment that supports healthy eating, physical activity, and overall student well-being.
The district is building upon the existing work of the Health Advisory Board by establishing this dedicated subcommittee as part of a coordinated approach to support the whole child. The Wellness Committee will center its efforts on:
- Developing and promoting initiatives that encourage balanced nutrition.
- Supporting Michigan Department of Education (MDE) wellness standards.
- Gathering and incorporating community feedback to enhance the district’s wellness initiatives.
Northville Public Schools invites parents, staff, students, and community members with an interest or expertise in nutrition, wellness, or public health to join this important initiative. The district recognizes that community involvement is essential in fostering a culture of wellness and ensuring student success.
To ensure meaningful engagement, the committee will be limited to no more than fifteen (15) community members. If interest exceeds available slots, selection will be conducted through a lottery process.
Meeting Schedule:
All meetings will be held at Old Village School at 4:30 P.M. on the following dates:
- March 13, 2025
- May 15, 2025
- August 21, 2025
- October 23, 2025
- December 11, 2025
Individuals interested in participating are encouraged to complete the NPS Wellness Committee interest form by February 10, 2025.
Northville Public Schools extends its gratitude to the community for its continued support and partnership in fostering a safe, healthy, and enriching environment for all students.
